Getting to UGB from the island of Saint Louis
Many taxis are available to take you from the island of Saint-Louis to UGB (fees ranging between 1,500 and 2,000 FCFA). The trip takes approximately thirty minutes.
Bus number 2 runs between the island of Saint-Louis (North district) and UGB. The bus leaves from Moustapha Malick Gaye bridge, near Place Baya Ndar, formerly known as Place Faidherbe (see map below). Please note that the bus is slower than a taxi and you will have a longer waiting time. Price: 150 FCFA

Finding your way around the UGB campus
The conference will be held at two venues: the CRAC amphitheatre and the CEA MITIC building (please see the first map). A regular shuttle service runs between the two conference venues. It is a ten-minute walk.

Covid 19-related entry requirements and health measuresVaccinated travellers must provide a Covid-19 Health Pass (Pass Sanitaire) certifying their fully vaccinated status before travelling to Senegal. The Health Pass must prove that passengers have received the required doses of the vaccine at least fourteen days before the date of the trip. If the travellers are not vaccinated, they must provide a negative PCR test conducted less than 72 hours before the trip. In Senegal, masks must be worn at all times, even outdoors, in all public areas where people can gather. CurrencyThe currency of Senegal is the West African CFA franc (XOF). This currency is used by the eight Member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). It is pegged to the euro (1 euro = 655 FCFA). Several banking institutions are located in Saint-Louis. However, we advise exchanging money upon your arrival at the Airport (AIBD). Conference organisers cannot provide any banking services.
Official languageSenegal is a French-speaking country. A French and English interpreting service will be provided for the conferences and panel discussions. |
